The Weed Man Madison, WI team lives and works in the communities that we serve. Offering quality service is our main goal for our customers and neighbors. Meet your Madison, WI Weed Man team of lawn specialists who are professionally trained to manage all of your lawn care needs. We're happy to introduce ourselves!


DAVID SUNDQUIST | BRANCH MANAGER

Since starting with Weed Man in 2018, David has held a handful of positions with us including Technician, Marketing Representative, Service Manager & now Branch Manager. In addition to the hands-on experience gained from these roles, David also brings a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Pathology from UW Madison to the table. In his free time, David enjoys reading & traveling. 

 

JARED REAR | BRANCH MANAGER

Jared joined the Weed Man team in April of 2017 after graduating from Lakeland University with a degree in Sports & Business Management. Having worked in the green industry since 2013, Jared found a career with Weed Man, noting that he enjoyed the close-knit, professional feel & shared dedication of the organization. When not operating the Janesville branch of our Madison location, he can be found playing and watching golf, spending time with his wife & their dog, as well as playing baseball in the summers.


 

RYAN FITZGERALD | REGIONAL MANAGER
 


Since joining with Weed Man in 2014, Ryan has quickly become a leader & asset to our Team. Earning the position of Madison Branch Manager in 2017, it wasn’t long before he was then promoted to WI Regional Manager in 2020. In his off time, Ryan can be found somewhere in the state enjoying one of the many fantastic lakes, golf courses, or restaurants that Wisconsin has to offer.

 

DR. BRAD DEBELS | DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS    

Dr. Brad DeBels

Brad graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a PhD in Soil Science and a B.S. degree in Agronomy. Brad spent 7 years with the O.J. Noer Turfgrass and Education facility, and has presented at the Wisconsin & Illinois Golf Course Superintendents Association. Currently, Brad is the Chair of the WI Turfgrass Association and has written articles for Green Side Up, Grass Roots, and multiple scientific publications. In his spare time, Brad enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

 

ANDY KURTH | PRESIDENT

Andy Kurth

Andy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Soil Science with emphasis in Turf Management and Agribusiness. In 2019, Andy was awarded the Lawn and Landscape Emerging leader award which is given to a landscaping professional who is setting the tone for the younger generation. Andy serves as president of the Lawn Care Association of Wisconsin and volunteers with Project Healing Waters. Andy also takes part on the "Friends of Clean Lakes" board for the Clean Lakes Alliance. When Andy is away from the  office, you can find him fly fishing in one of Wisconsin's beautiful streams, spending time with his wife Nicole, or playing games with their three children, Dawson, Addy, and Logan, on their lawn at home.


TERRY KURTH | DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Terry Kurth


Terry graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1975 with a B.S. degree in Agronomy. Terry worked as a golf course superintendent in Northeastern Wisconsin after graduating from the U.W. He has been a past President of the Wisconsin Turfgrass Association, the Professional Lawn Care Association of America, the WI Green Industry Federation and the Mendota Gridiron Club, and currently serves on the Board of the Mid Am Horticultural Show. He has also served on the executive board of the WI Agri-Business Council and is an emeritus member of the Board of Visitors of the Ag & Life Sciences College of UW-Madison. Kurth received the WI Green Industry Distinguished Service Award in 1996. In 2000, Landscape Management magazine gave Kurth its Man of the Year Award for the Lawn Care Industry, and in November of 2002 he received the 2002 Leadership Award from Lawn & Landscape magazine. Spending family time with his eight grandsons and two granddaughters and watching his beloved Wisconsin Badgers compete in just about any sport are some of his favorite pastimes.
